Bulk Operations

Bulk operations allow you to perform actions on multiple permits simultaneously, saving time when managing large watchlists.

Selecting Multiple Permits

Individual Selection

Click checkboxes next to permits to select them individually:

1. Find permits in Watchlist table
2. Click checkbox on left side of each row
3. Selected permits show highlighted background
4. Selection count appears in toolbar

Select All on Page

Select all visible permits:

1. Click checkbox in table header
2. All permits on current page selected
3. Click again to deselect all

Select Across Pages

For large selections:

1. Select all on current page
2. A banner appears: "Select all X permits matching filters"
3. Click to extend selection across pages

Available Bulk Actions

When permits are selected, a toolbar appears with available actions:

Set Priority

Change priority for multiple permits:

1. Select permits
2. Click "Set Priority" in toolbar
3. Choose priority level
4. All selected permits updated

Add Tags

Apply tags to group permits:

1. Select permits
2. Click "Add Tags"
3. Select existing tags or create new
4. Tags applied to all selected

Remove from Watchlist

Untrack multiple permits:

1. Select permits
2. Click "Remove"
3. Confirm action
4. Permits removed from watchlist (slots freed)

Export Selected

Download data for selected permits:

1. Select permits
2. Click "Export"
3. Choose format (CSV, Excel)
4. Download includes only selected permits

Efficiency Tips

Use Filters First

Narrow results before bulk selecting:

1. Apply status, date, or text filters
2. Results show only matching permits
3. "Select all" applies to filtered results
4. Perform bulk action on targeted set

Keyboard Shortcuts

Speed up selection:

• Shift + Click: Select range of permits
• Ctrl/Cmd + Click: Toggle individual selection
• Ctrl/Cmd + A: Select all on page

Batch Size Limits

For performance, some actions have limits:

• Export: Up to 10,000 permits per export
• Watchlist add: Up to 500 permits per batch
• Tag operations: Up to 1,000 permits

Common Use Cases

Weekly Cleanup

Remove completed permits:

1. Filter by status: "Completed" or "Closed"
2. Filter by completion date (older than 30 days)
3. Select all filtered permits
4. Remove from watchlist

Priority Review

Update priorities after review:

1. Filter by current priority
2. Review permits needing change
3. Select permits for new priority
4. Apply bulk priority update

Client Handoff

Export permits for a client:

1. Filter by tags or company
2. Select all client permits
3. Export to Excel
4. Share with client
