Enforcement Tracking

Enforcement Tracking

Monitor code violations and enforcement cases near your tracked permits using the map overlay.

Enforcement Tracking helps you stay informed about code violations and enforcement cases near your project locations. When enabled on the map view, red markers show nearby enforcement permits, helping you identify potential compliance issues in your project areas.

What is Enforcement Tracking?

The enforcement overlay displays code violation permits within a configurable radius of your tracked permits:

  • Code Violations: Building code complaints and violations
  • Remedial Orders: Orders requiring corrective action
  • Civil Cases: Enforcement actions in legal proceedings
  • Inspection Failures: Failed inspection records

How to Enable

Enforcement tracking is available in both Portfolio and Market Radar map views.

Step 1: Switch to Map View

  1. Navigate to Portfolio or Market Radar
  2. Click the Map toggle in the view switcher (top-right of the permits list)

Step 2: Enable the Overlay

  1. Locate the Enforcement card in the summary widgets (left side)
  2. Toggle the switch to enable the enforcement overlay
  3. Red markers appear showing nearby enforcement permits

Step 3: Adjust Search Radius

Use the slider to control how far from your tracked permits to search:

Start with a smaller radius (0.25-0.5 mi) in dense urban areas to avoid clutter.

Tips and Best Practices

Radius Selection

Dense urban0.1 - 0.25 miles
Suburban0.25 - 0.5 miles
Commercial0.5 - 0.75 miles
Rural0.75 - 1.0 miles

Settings Persistence

Your enforcement overlay settings are saved automatically:

  • Toggle state (on/off)
  • Radius setting
  • Settings are separate for Portfolio and Radar

This means you can configure each view independently.

Performance

  • Enforcement permits load after your main permits are geocoded
  • The overlay may take a moment to appear with many tracked permits
  • Reduce radius if too many markers clutter the map
