Voting on Requests
Voting helps us understand which features are most important to our users.
How to Vote

One vote per request: You can only vote once per feature request. Votes are tracked by your IP address to ensure fair voting.
Submitting a Feature Request
Want to suggest a new feature? There are two ways to submit your idea.
Requirements
- You must be signed in to submit a feature request
- You can submit up to 3 requests per day
Option 1: From the Dashboard (Recommended)
The easiest way to submit a feature request is directly from your Plotwise dashboard:
- Look for the Feedback button in the sidebar footer (at the bottom of the left navigation panel), marked with a message circle icon
- Click the Feedback button to open the dialog
- Select the Feature Request tab at the top
- Fill out the form:
- Title: A short, descriptive title (5-100 characters)
- Description: Explain your idea and why it would be helpful (20-2000 characters)
- Click Submit
After submitting, you'll see a success message with a View all link to see your request on the public Feature Requests page.
Public visibility: Feature requests submitted from the dashboard are public. Other users can view and vote on them at plotwise.us/feedback.
Option 2: From the Feature Requests Page
You can also submit directly from the public Feature Requests page:
- Visit plotwise.us/feedback
- Click the Suggest Feature button
- If not signed in, you'll be prompted to sign in or create an account
- Fill out the form and click Submit Request
Writing Effective Requests
To increase the chances of your request being implemented:
- Be specific: Describe exactly what you want the feature to do
- Explain the problem: What challenge does this feature solve?
- Include use cases: How would you use this feature?
- Keep it focused: One feature per request works best
Good example: "Add bulk export to CSV for Watchlist - I need to share permit data with my team weekly, and exporting one at a time is slow."
After Submitting
- Your request appears immediately on the Feature Requests page
- You automatically get one vote on your own request
- Other users can vote on your request
- Our product team reviews popular requests regularly
Request Statuses
Feature requests can have different statuses indicating their progress:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Open | New request, being considered |
| Planned | Accepted and added to our roadmap |
| In Progress | Currently being developed |
| Completed | Feature has been released |
| Declined | Not planned at this time |
Status badges appear next to requests that have been reviewed by our team.
