Creating Your Account

Step-by-step guide to creating your Plotwise account and verifying your email.

Creating a Plotwise account is quick and easy. You can sign up using email and password, or use your existing Google or Microsoft account for faster access.

Sign Up Options

Plotwise offers three convenient ways to create your account:

  1. Email and Password: Create a traditional account with your email address
  2. Google OAuth: Sign up instantly using your Google account
  3. Microsoft OAuth: Sign up instantly using your Microsoft account

Step 1: Choose Your Sign-Up Method

Navigate to the Plotwise sign-up page and select your preferred method:

Email and Password Sign-Up

  1. Enter your email address in the Email field
  2. Create a strong password (minimum 8 characters, maximum 72 characters)
  3. Confirm your password in the Confirm Password field
  4. Click Create Account

OAuth Sign-Up (Google or Microsoft)

  1. Click the Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft button
  2. Select your account from the provider's login screen
  3. Grant Plotwise permission to access your basic profile information
  4. You'll be automatically redirected to the onboarding flow

Step 2: Verify Your Email

If you signed up with email and password, you'll need to verify your email address:

  1. Check your inbox for an email from Plotwise with the subject "Verify your email address"
  2. Click the verification link in the email
  3. You'll be redirected to a success page confirming your email is verified
  4. Click Continue to Dashboard to proceed to onboarding

Step 3: Initial Login

After verifying your email (or completing OAuth sign-up), you'll be logged in and directed to the onboarding flow. This is where you'll:

  • Set up your profile (name, phone, avatar)
  • Choose your theme preference
  • Create or join an organization
  • Configure initial tracking settings
