Permit Details Page

Understanding the permit details page layout, sections, and features for comprehensive permit tracking.

The permit details page provides complete information about a tracked permit, including status, parties, fees, inspections, and your organization's notes and tasks.

Accessing Permit Details

Navigate to permit details by:

  • Clicking a permit row in the Watchlist table
  • Clicking a permit link in the Dashboard Change Tracker
  • Clicking a permit in Portfolio or Radar results
  • Direct URL: /organizations/{org}/watchlist/{permit-id}

The header displays key permit information:

  • Permit Number: Official record number (click to copy)
  • Status Badge: Current status with color coding
  • Jurisdiction: Issuing jurisdiction name
  • Address: Property location

Header Actions

Click the menu button (three dots) in the header to access:

  • Add note: Add a note to document information about this permit
  • Assign tags: Categorize the permit with custom tags
  • Copy permit URL: Copy a shareable link to the permit
  • Report bug: Report data issues with this permit
  • Remove from Watchlist: Remove the permit from tracking

Reporting Permit Data Issues

If you notice incorrect or missing permit data:

  1. Click the menu button (⋯) in the header
  2. Select "Report bug"
  3. Review the permit information in the dialog
  4. Add optional notes describing the issue
  5. Click "Send Report"

Our team will investigate the issue and work to correct any data problems. This helps improve data accuracy for all users.

Permit Information Section

Basic Details

Location Details

  • Full Address: Complete street address
  • City, State, ZIP: Location components
  • Parcel/Folio: Property identifier
  • Coordinates: Latitude/longitude (if available)

Parties Section

Lists all parties associated with the permit:

Party Types

  • Owner: Property owner
  • Applicant: Person/company who applied
  • Contractor: Licensed contractor
  • Architect: Design professional
  • Engineer: Structural/civil engineer
  • Agent: Permit expediter or representative

Party Details

Each party card shows:

  • Name and role
  • Company name
  • License number (if applicable)
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Fees Section

Displays all fees associated with the permit:

Fee Information

Fee Totals

  • Total Fees: Sum of all fees
  • Paid: Amount already paid
  • Outstanding: Remaining balance

Inspections Section

Lists all inspections scheduled or completed:

Inspection Details

Inspection Actions

  • View History: See all inspection attempts
  • Calendar: Add to your inspection calendar

Processing Status Section

Shows department review workflow:

Workflow Stages

Each stage displays:

  • Department: Reviewing department name
  • Status: Pending, In Review, Complete, Hold
  • Reviewer: Assigned reviewer (if known)
  • Comments: Review comments or requirements
  • Due Date: Expected completion date

Status Indicators

  • Complete (green): Review approved
  • In Review (blue): Currently under review
  • Pending (gray): Not yet started
  • Hold (orange): Additional info needed

Change History Section

Chronological log of all detected changes:

Change Types

  • Status Changed: Permit status updated
  • Fee Added/Updated: New fee or amount change
  • Inspection Scheduled: New inspection added
  • Review Updated: Department review progress
  • Party Added/Removed: Contact changes
  • Document Uploaded: New attachment

History Entry Details

Each entry shows:

  • Change type icon
  • Description of what changed
  • Previous and new values (when applicable)
  • Timestamp

Organization Data Section

Data specific to your organization (not shared):

Notes

Add notes to document:

  • Phone calls with jurisdiction
  • Client communications
  • Internal observations
  • Follow-up reminders

To add a note:

  1. Click "Add Note" button
  2. Enter note text
  3. Click Save

Notes display author and timestamp.

Tasks

Create tasks for follow-up actions:

  • Schedule inspection
  • Pay outstanding fee
  • Submit corrections
  • Contact client

To create a task:

  1. Click "Add Task" button
  2. Enter task description
  3. Set due date (optional)
  4. Assign to team member (optional)
  5. Click Save

Tags

Apply tags to categorize permits:

  • Client name
  • Project type
  • Priority level
  • Custom categories

To add tags:

  1. Click in the tags field
  2. Type tag name
  3. Press Enter or select existing tag

If the permit has related records:

  • Parent Permit: Original permit (for revisions)
  • Child Permits: Sub-permits or revisions
  • Linked Permits: Same project, different types

Click any related permit to navigate to its details.
